Silver Lot Size on MCX (2026): Silver Micro, Silver Mini, Silver and Silver 100

Silver lot size is the fixed quantity of silver in one MCX contract. MCX has four silver futures contracts, from 30 kg down to 100 grams, so you can pick the size that fits your capital and risk.

Quick answer: MCX silver lot size

  • One lot of Silver Micro (SILVERMIC) is 1 kg.

  • One lot of Silver Mini (SILVERM) is 5 kg.

  • One lot of Silver (SILVER) is 30 kg.

  • One lot of Silver 100 (SILVER100) is 100 grams, the smallest silver contract on MCX.

  • A ₹1 move per kg changes one lot by ₹1 for Silver Micro, ₹5 for Silver Mini and ₹30 for Silver.

  • Silver 100 is quoted per 10 grams, so a ₹1 move changes one lot by ₹10.

Silver Micro Lot Size (SILVERMIC)

The Silver Micro lot size is 1 kg. SILVERMIC is its trading symbol, so “silvermic lot size” and “silver micro lot size” mean the same thing.

A ₹1 move per kg changes one lot by ₹1, and 30 Silver Micro lots equal one standard Silver lot. Silver Micro trades as futures only, with no options contract.

Silver Mini Lot Size (SILVERM)

The Silver Mini lot size is 5 kg. A ₹1 move per kg changes one lot by ₹5, and 6 Silver Mini lots equal one standard Silver lot.

Silver Mini is the smallest silver contract that also has options. MCX launched these options in July 2021, which suits option traders who want less exposure than the standard contract.

Silver Lot Size (SILVER)

The standard MCX Silver lot size is 30 kg. A ₹1 move per kg changes one lot by ₹30, so this contract carries the most exposure per lot. Its options contract has the same 30 kg lot size.

Silver 100 Lot Size (SILVER100)

The Silver 100 lot size is 100 grams. MCX launched it on June 1, 2026, as its smallest silver contract.

It is quoted per 10 grams, not per kg. A ₹1 move per 10 grams changes one lot by ₹10, and 10 Silver 100 lots equal one Silver Micro lot. Silver 100 trades as futures only.

How to Calculate the Value of 1 Lot of Silver

Multiply the quoted price by the number of quote units in one lot.

  • At ₹2,00,000 per kg, one Silver Micro lot is worth ₹2,00,000 × 1 = ₹2,00,000.

  • One Silver Mini lot at the same price is worth ₹2,00,000 × 5 = ₹10,00,000.

  • If silver rises by ₹1,000 per kg, a long lot gains ₹1,000 on Silver Micro, ₹5,000 on Silver Mini, ₹30,000 on Silver and ₹100 on Silver 100. A ₹1,000 fall causes the same loss.

This is the full value of the contract, not the money you need to trade it. For futures, you deposit margin, which is a share of this value. Margin changes with volatility, so check the current figure in your broker’s app before you trade.

  2. Open the AlgoTest Option Simulator and select SILVER from the instrument list.

  3. Pick a past trading day to replay, such as an evening when US inflation or jobs data came out.

  4. Buy or sell one lot of a silver option and watch how your P&L changes as the price moves.

The Simulator uses the standard 30 kg contract. Divide the P&L by 6 to estimate one Silver Mini lot, by 30 for one Silver Micro lot, or by 300 for one Silver 100 lot.

Which Silver Lot Size Fits You?

  • Silver Micro and Silver 100 let you trade silver with the smallest amount of capital, but they have no options.

  • Silver Mini suits traders who want options with less exposure than the standard contract.

  • Standard Silver suits traders who are comfortable with a ₹30 change in P&L for every ₹1 move per kg.

  • If you are new to silver, a smaller contract keeps your risk per trade low while you learn how the market moves.

MCX Silver Options Lot Size

MCX offers options on Silver and Silver Mini. One Silver option lot covers 30 kg, and one Silver Mini option lot covers 5 kg, the same as their underlying futures. Silver Micro and Silver 100 have no options.

  • Option premiums are quoted per kg. If a Silver Mini call trades at ₹3,000, one lot costs ₹3,000 × 5 = ₹15,000, and a Silver call at the same premium costs ₹90,000.

  • Silver options expire before their underlying futures contract.

  • In-the-money options held to expiry turn into futures positions of the same lot size, and those futures carry delivery obligations near expiry.

Silver Expiry and Delivery on MCX

  • Silver Mini and Silver Micro futures expire on the last calendar day of February, April, June, August and November, or the working day before if that day is a holiday.

  • Standard Silver futures expire on the 5th of March, May, July, September and December, or the working day before if the 5th is a holiday or weekend.

  • Silver 100 has monthly contracts, and its delivery tender period covers the last three trading days, including expiry day.

  • MCX silver is settled by delivery, not cash, so positions still open at expiry go into physical delivery. If you do not want physical silver, exit early. Many brokers square off positions before the delivery period, so check your broker’s cutoff or compare commodity brokers.

  • Expiry dates can shift around MCX holidays, so always check the exact date in your broker’s app or the MCX contract specification.

Silver trades from 9:00 AM to 11:30 PM or 11:55 PM, depending on US daylight saving time. See MCX trading time for the full schedule.
